Evan is 22 years old, a graduate from Noblesville High School, and a recent graduate of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. Evan’s academic strengths (Evan was inducted into the National Honor Society) have carried over into karting, making him one of the more technical drivers on the karting circuit. Although Evan started karting late (age 16), he proved his ability with numerous race wins in KRA, GLSS, SKUSA, Great Lakes Pro Series, and Route 66, along with WKA national podium finishes, and KRA season championships in multiple classes.
Evan returned to the KRA Series in 2010 to race a Tony Kart Krypton with a DDR Honda in the shifter class. He raced the series against his bother Eric for the first time in the same class. Evan won the first 11 races for a perfect season and was named the 2011 Senior Driver of the Year. Evan also won nearly every other race he entered, including a KRA TaG race, two Great Lakes Pro Series races, and a SKUSA Central States Challenge race. Evan also has a second place finish in the SKUSA Summer Nationals.
Evan is racing a limited schedule for 2011 as he begins his working career, but plans to race more in 2012 on a new DDR Powered DR S97 Kart.
Outside of karting Evan enjoys golf, fishing, and music.

"Both
Evan and Eric are the young men of great character, on and off the
track. They both have a strong under-standing of the fundamentals of
kart chassis setup and driving. I've worked closely with Evan on
projects for both National Kart News and MKP and he's been a great
asset in terms of both professionalism and knowledge. I look
forward to working with Evan and Eric for years to come in karting!
"I am very excited for Evan to be
on a Gillard, I am sure he will win a lot of races at New Castle
Motorsports Park. All of us at Screaming Talent are looking forward
to watching Evan dominate in 2008" stated Screaming Talent team
principal and Indy Racing League driver Jay Howard. (2008)
"I have enjoyed working with Evan and Eric Batt. Evan has
already proven his driving skills. He impresses me with his
methodical analysis setting up a kart and driving the kart with an
awareness of where he is, and where he needs to be. Eric this season
has shown so much improvement. Eric has matured to become a talented
driver and tuner" quote by Jay Vormwald. (2008)
"I think Evan surprised a lot of people by being right
on the pace
despite his limited experience in the sport. He
appears to have a
very natural feel for the dynamics of a race kart, which should keep
him at the front during any championship chase".....Derek Daly,
Professional Race Car Driver, Motorsports Commentator, and Public
Speaker. (2006)
